Giant Crossbow
In 1488 to 1489 Leonardo Da Vinci designed a Giant Crossbow in his note book Codex Antlanticus. The Crossbow is a type of a shooting weapon that was designed for intimidation. Leonardo Da Vinci wanted to know if he can shoot huge stones or bombs in a long distance if he constructed a giant crossbow. Leonardo’s Giant Crossbow was functioned with soldiers spinning a crank to pull back the bow and loads the artillery. Then a soldier would then use a mallet which is a hammer with a wooden head, knocking out a holding pin and firing the weapon. The design of the giant crossbow wasn't never built or tested by Leonardo da Vinci himself until 23 August 2010. Leonardo’s Crossbow was recreated based on his original design by a team of engineers. The only change the group had to make was to create a second bow as the first one snapped under the tremendous force as the bow was ratcheted up to full tension.
