Parachute
In 1483 Leonardo Da Vinci had a delineation of parachute in his fascinating note book which is called Codex Antlanticus. The parachute was a triangular pyramid that had 25 feet high and 12 feet depth. It was consisted with sealed linen cloth and held open by poles that are in a pyramid shape. The Parachute was made because he wanted to know if a person can throw himself down from any great height without suffering any injury. The first Parachute was actually made by Sebastian Lenormand by the design from Leonardo Da Vinci in the Codex Antlanticus a few hundred years ago. The Parachute that was in the Codex wasn’t actually never built neither tested by Leonardo Da Vinci himself until in the year 2000, June 26. Adrian Nichols built a parachute based on Leonardo’s design and he tested it. He dropped from a hot air balloon that is 3,000 metres high above the ground. They attempted to do it in the UK but failed due to having strong winds and safety near populates areas. So they decided to do it in a wide open space, Mpumalanga, South Africa .The weight of the parachute, 84 kilogram, could crash down on top of Nicholas upon landing caused him to cut away the da Vinci parachute at 2,000 feet . The test was accomplished and Nicholas safely floated down saying that Leonardo’s parachute is smoother than the modern parachute.
